TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Appraise the scientific rationale for the development of bispecific antibodies directed at PD-1 x VEGF, and understand the mechanism of action of and similarities and differences among the various investigational agents in this class.
- Evaluate the documented efficacy of PD-1 x VEGF bispecific antibodies in combination with chemotherapy for patients with progressive EGFR-mutated metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (mNSCLC), and consider the potential role of these agents in treatment.
- Review published research findings with PD-1 x VEGF bispecific antibodies alone and in combination with chemotherapy as first-line therapy for patients with mNSCLC without actionable genomic alterations, and reflect on ongoing trials attempting to further validate the effectiveness of these strategies.
- Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of toxicities associated with PD-1 x VEGF bispecific antibodies, and appreciate management strategies available to facilitate the safe and effective use of these agents.
