Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical oncologists, hematologists, hematology-oncology fellows, surgeons, radiation oncologists, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of cancer.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to

Breast Cancer

  • Evaluate recently presented clinical research findings to determine their effect on the current management of localized or metastatic breast cancer.
  • Appraise published efficacy and safety data from randomized clinical trials evaluating CDK4/6 inhibitors for hormone receptor (HR)-positive localized or metastatic breast cancer in order to appropriately counsel patients regarding the optimal clinical use of these agents.
  • Recognize the biological rationale for the development of agents targeting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR pathway, and recognize available data with FDA-approved treatments for patients with HR-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC) with and without PIK3CA/AKT1/PTEN alterations.
  • Understand the mechanism of action of, published research findings with and current and future clinical role of oral selective estrogen receptor degraders (SERDs) alone and in combination with other agents and of PROTAC (PROteolysis TArgeting Chimera) ER degraders for patients with HR-positive mBC harboring ESR1 mutations.
  • Analyze the scientific justification for, available data with and potential clinical role of oral SERDs as adjuvant treatment for localized HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.
  • Evaluate published research findings to effectively inform the selection and sequencing of available therapeutic agents and regimens for HER2-positive localized and metastatic breast cancer.
  • Review published research data supporting the use of chemotherapy or antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) therapy in combination with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for localized or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, and use this information to make appropriate treatment recommendations.
  • Interrogate published Phase III research findings documenting the efficacy of TROP2-directed ADC monotherapy for mBC to determine the current clinical applicability of this approach.
  • Assess the mechanisms of action of, early data with and ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and treatment strategies under development for localized and metastatic breast cancer.

Prostate Cancer

  • Infer how various clinical and biological factors affect the risk of prostate cancer recurrence after local therapy, and design appropriate treatment plans for individual patients considering the potential benefits and risks of new and established forms of hormonal therapy.
  • Evaluate the biological rationale for and available data with perioperative androgen deprivation therapy in combination with an androgen receptor (AR) pathway inhibitor for high-risk localized or locally advanced prostate cancer, and review the potential clinical role of this novel strategy.
  • Appraise published research findings on optimal management approaches for patients with biochemical recurrence after local treatment for prostate cancer, and counsel appropriate individuals regarding the potential benefits of FDA-approved systemic treatment options.
  • Explore available data with treatment intensification with cytotoxic therapy, secondary hormonal therapy or combinations of these approaches for metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer (mHSPC), and effectively integrate these strategies into current clinical management algorithms.
  • Assess the available research database supporting the use of PARP inhibitors in combination with AR pathway inhibitors for patients with metastatic prostate cancer harboring a homologous recombination repair gene alteration, and discern how to optimally incorporate these agents into current clinical management algorithms.
  • Evaluate available data with novel AKT inhibitors in combination with hormonal therapy for mHSPC with PTEN deficiency, and identify patients who may be appropriate for this form of treatment.
  • Review available Phase III data documenting the efficacy of various forms of radioligand therapy for metastatic prostate cancer, and consider the current and future clinical role of these strategies.
  • Recall the design of ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and strategies for prostate cancer, and counsel appropriate patients about availability and participation.

Relapsed/Refractory (R/R) Multiple Myeloma (MM)

  • Consider published research findings and other clinical factors in the best-practice sequencing of established and novel agents and regimens for R/R MM.
  • Develop an understanding of the current clinical research database with various chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy platforms in the management of R/R MM in order to optimally integrate this novel therapeutic strategy into current treatment algorithms.
  • Assess available research data with B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) and non-BCMA-directed bispecific antibodies for MM in order to appropriately integrate these agents into current clinical algorithms.
  • Recall recently presented clinical research findings establishing the definitive efficacy of BCMA-directed ADC therapy for R/R MM, and identify patients appropriate for treatment with these agents.
  • Analyze the mechanism of action of, published efficacy and safety findings with and the current and future clinical role of cereblon E3 ligase modulators in the management of R/R MM.
  • Implement a plan of care to recognize and manage class-effect and agent-specific toxicities associated with therapies commonly employed in the care of patients with R/R MM.
  • Recall available data with novel agents and strategies currently under investigation for R/R MM, and discuss clinical trial participation with eligible patients.
