This program is intended for medical oncologists, hematologists, hematology-oncology fellows, radiation oncologists, surgeons and other allied healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of lung cancer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Appreciate the biological rationale for and available data with trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2)-directed antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and consider the potential role of these agents for appropriately identified patients.
  • Understand available clinical research data with the use of TROP2-directed ADCs for NSCLC in patients without actionable genomic alterations, and reflect upon efforts to better distinguish individuals who may benefit from this form of treatment.
  • Evaluate the scientific justification for the evaluation of TROP2-directed ADCs in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors and other available therapies, and counsel patients regarding the potential benefits of participating in clinical research studies investigating these approaches.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of toxicities associated with various TROP2-directed ADCs, and understand appropriate strategies to monitor for, manage and mitigate them.

  • Appreciate the incidence and clinical implications of ESR1 mutations in endocrine-resistant metastatic breast cancer (mBC), and determine optimal strategies to effectively identify patients harboring these abnormalities.
  • Understand the biological rationale for, mechanism of action of and pharmacologic similarities and differences among available and investigational oral selective estrogen receptor degraders (SERDs).
  • Interrogate published research findings documenting the efficacy of available and investigational oral SERDs for patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative, ESR1-mutant mBC experiencing disease progression on standard endocrine therapy in combination with a CDK4/6 inhibitor in order to optimally integrate these agents into the care of appropriately selected individuals.
  • Evaluate available clinical trial data with oral SERDs in combination with other therapeutic agents for patients with ER-positive, HER2-negative mBC with and without ESR1 mutations, and consider the potential role of these regimens.
  • Appreciate side effects associated with available and investigational oral SERDs, and use this information to develop supportive management plans for patients undergoing treatment with this form of therapy.
  • Assess ongoing clinical research studies evaluating novel applications of oral SERDs for ER-positive breast cancer, and counsel patients regarding the potential benefits of trial participation.

This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of breast cancer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Review available research supporting the use of chemotherapy in combination with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for newly diagnosed PD-L1-positive metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC), and use this information to identify patients who may be appropriate for this approach.
  • Evaluate published research findings, clinical factors such as age, performance status, prior therapeutic exposure and HER2-low status and patient preferences in the selection and sequencing of available therapeutic agents for patients with PD-L1-negative TNBC or those who experience disease progression on front-line chemoimmunotherapy.
  • Appreciate available clinical trial data with the use of approved antibody-drug conjugates for patients with mTNBC, and determine how to optimally incorporate these agents into current treatment algorithms.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of treatment-emergent adverse events associated with agents commonly used in the management of mTNBC, and develop strategies to monitor for, prevent and manage these complications.
  • Assess the mechanisms of action of, early data with and ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and treatment strategies under development for TNBC.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of oncology nurses, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists involved in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

PURPOSE STATEMENT
By providing information on the latest research developments in the context of expert perspectives, this NCPD activity will assist oncology nurses, nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists with the formulation of state-of-the-art clinical management strategies to facilitate optimal care of patients with multiple myeloma.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand how age, comorbidities, cytogenetic profile and fitness for stem cell transplantation influence the selection of first-line therapy for patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM).
  • Appreciate clinical trial data informing the front-line use of monoclonal antibody therapy directed at CD38 for MM in patients eligible for stem cell transplant in order to effectively educate individuals about personalized treatment recommendations.
  • Evaluate published and recently presented research findings with CD38-based regimens as front-line treatment for MM in patients deemed ineligible for stem cell transplant, and identify individuals for whom a quadruplet regimen would be appropriate.
  • Implement a plan of care to recognize and manage side effects and toxicities associated with commonly used front-line regimens for MM.

  • Discuss the biological justification for the evaluation of immune checkpoint inhibitors for patients with advanced biliary tract cancers (BTCs), and develop strategies to optimally incorporate anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody-based approaches into the care of individuals with these diseases.
  • Recognize the molecular heterogeneity of cholangiocarcinomas and other BTCs, and appreciate the biological rationale for efforts to exploit documented abnormalities in patients with these diseases.
  • Assess key datasets supporting the recent FDA approvals of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitors for previously treated, unresectable locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma with an FGFR2 fusion or other rearrangement in order to optimally select and sequence these agents.
  • Evaluate available clinical trial findings with HER2-directed therapies for patients with HER2-positive BTCs, and contemplate the current utility of these agents for appropriately selected individuals.
  • Recall available and emerging data with investigational agents and strategies currently in clinical testing for BTCs, and appropriately refer patients for trial participation.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, hematologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other allied healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Consider published research findings and other clinical factors in the best-practice sequencing of established and novel agents and regimens in the care of patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma (MM).
  • Understand the mechanisms of action of and pivotal clinical trial findings with FDA-approved novel therapies to facilitate their integration into MM management algorithms.
  • Evaluate the biological rationale for exploiting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA) in the management of MM, and understand the similarities and differences among available and investigational therapies directed at this target.
  • Assess available findings with BCMA-directed chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy and bispecific antibodies for MM, and recognize patients for whom treatment with one of these novel agents would be appropriate.
  • Review recently presented research establishing the efficacy of BCMA-directed antibody-drug conjugate therapy, and recognize the potential clinical role of this form of treatment.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Appreciate the incidence of trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2) overexpression in patients with breast cancer and the ramifications for prognosis and management.
  • Consider published clinical research data with TROP2-directed antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for patients with metastatic breast cancer in order to optimally integrate available agents into routine clinical care.
  • Discern the side effects and toxicities associated with FDA-approved TROP2-directed ADCs used in the care of patients with metastatic breast cancer, and identify strategies to manage and mitigate them.
  • Evaluate the scientific justification for the use of TROP2-directed ADCs in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy or in earlier lines of treatment, including the adjuvant setting, and reflect on ongoing trials investigating these approaches.

  • Describe the mechanism of action of menin inhibitors and review the rationale for their activity in patients with KMT2A-rearranged and NPM1-mutant acute leukemias.
  • Evaluate available efficacy and safety data with the use of menin inhibitors in patients with previously treated KMT2A-rearranged acute leukemias, and optimally integrate the single FDA-approved agent into current management algorithms.
  • Assess published and emerging clinical trial findings with available and investigational menin inhibitors for the treatment of NPM1-mutant acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and consider the implications for current and future management.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical and gynecologic oncologists, gynecologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of gynecologic cancers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Understand available clinical research findings with PARP inhibitors as maintenance therapy after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy for advanced ovarian cancer (OC), and appropriately counsel patients regarding personalized treatment recommendations.
  • Evaluate the biological rationale for and published data with PARP inhibitors in combination with other systemic therapies, and consider the current and potential clinical and research implications of these findings for OC management.
  • Appraise relevant biological, patient- and treatment-related factors to individualize the selection and sequencing of therapy for platinum-sensitive and platinum-resistant recurrent OC.
  • Appreciate available clinical research findings with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment for advanced or recurrent endometrial cancer (EC), and optimally incorporate this novel strategy into the care of patients with microsatellite instability-high/mismatch repair (MMR)-deficient and microsatellite-stable/MMR-proficient disease.
  • Understand the available data with PARP inhibitors in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy for patients with advanced or metastatic EC.
  • Interrogate published efficacy and safety findings with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies in combination with other local or systemic therapies for cervical cancer, and effectively integrate immune checkpoint inhibition into patient care.
  • Evaluate published clinical research documenting the efficacy of HER2-targeted agents and regimens for patients with HER2-overexpressing gynecologic cancers, and consider the role of various approaches in disease management.
  • Describe the scientific justification for, published data with and ongoing research with novel agents and strategies for gynecologic cancers, and effectively prioritize clinical trial opportunities for eligible patients.
  • Evaluate the potential benefits of measuring circulating tumor DNA to assess for the absence or presence of molecular residual disease during and after treatment for various gynecologic cancers, and consider the current and future utility of this strategy in clinical practice.
