TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, breast surgeons, radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals involved in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Review available research supporting the use of chemotherapy in combination with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for newly diagnosed PD-L1-positive metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC), and identify patients for whom treatment with this approach would be appropriate.
  • Interrogate published and emerging Phase III research documenting the efficacy of TROP2-directed antibody-drug conjugates for patients with mTNBC to determine the current and future clinical applicability of these approaches.
  • Appreciate the incidence, characteristics and clinical relevance of hormone receptor-negative, HER2-low metastatic breast cancer, and understand available research findings with HER2-directed antibody-drug conjugates for these patients.
  • Assess the mechanisms of action of, early data with and ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and treatment strategies under development for mTNBC.

  • Appreciate the pathophysiology of ocular toxicities associated with the administration of specific anticancer therapies for various solid tumors and hematologic cancers.
  • Understand the frequency and severity of ocular toxicities observed in pivotal trials evaluating novel agents and strategies demonstrating efficacy in various tumor types, and educate patients about to begin therapy with these approaches regarding the potential development of these adverse events (AEs) and what to do if they are suspected.
  • Recall strategies commonly employed to identify, manage and mitigate ocular toxicities in patients receiving anticancer treatment, and use this information to appropriately intervene when these side effects are suspected or diagnosed.
  • Appraise the role of multidisciplinary specialists such as ophthalmologists and other eye-care professionals in the diagnosis and management of ocular toxicities, and effectively collaborate with these clinicians to offer best-practice care for patients at high risk for or with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of these AEs.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Appreciate the biological rationale for and available data with trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2)-directed antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for EGFR mutation-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and consider the potential role of these agents for appropriately identified patients.
  • Understand available clinical research data with the use of TROP2-directed ADCs for NSCLC in patients without actionable genomic alterations, and reflect upon efforts to better distinguish individuals who may benefit from this form of treatment.
  • Evaluate the scientific justification for the evaluation of TROP2-directed ADCs in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors and other available therapies, and counsel patients regarding the potential benefits of participating in clinical research studies investigating these approaches.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of toxicities associated with various TROP2-directed ADCs, and understand appropriate strategies to monitor for, manage and mitigate them.

  • Recall strategies commonly employed to identify, manage and mitigate ocular toxicities in patients receiving anticancer treatment, and use this information to appropriately intervene when these side effects are suspected or diagnosed.
  • Appraise the role of multidisciplinary specialists such as ophthalmologists and other eye-care professionals in the diagnosis and management of ocular toxicities, and effectively collaborate with these clinicians to offer best-practice care for patients at high risk for or with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of these AEs.

This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of extrapulmonary neuroendocrine carcinoma.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Appreciate the incidence, etiology and clinical and biological characteristics of extrapulmonary neuroendocrine carcinoma (EP-NEC).
  • Consider published research findings guiding the current selection and sequencing of therapy for patients with EP-NEC.
  • Appraise the scientific rationale for targeting delta-like ligand 3 (DLL3) in EP-NEC, and recognize the mechanism of action of DLL3 x CD3-targeting T-cell engagers.
  • Evaluate available research findings with DLL3 x CD3 T-cell engagers for patients with EP-NEC, and consider the potential clinical role of these agents.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency, and severity of adverse events associated with DLL3 x CD3 T-cell engagers, such as cytokine release syndrome, neurologic toxicity, infections and cytopenias, and appreciate strategies for prevention, amelioration and management.
  • Recall ongoing trials evaluating novel DLL3-targeted approaches for EP-NEC, and appropriately counsel patients regarding enrollment.

  • Review available research supporting the use of chemotherapy in combination with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies for newly diagnosed PD-L1-positive metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC), and use this information to identify patients who may be appropriate for this approach.
  • Evaluate published research findings, clinical factors such as age, performance status, prior therapeutic exposure and HER2-low status and patient preferences in the selection and sequencing of available therapeutic agents for patients with PD-L1-negative TNBC or those who experience disease progression on front-line chemoimmunotherapy.
  • Appreciate available clinical trial data with the use of approved antibody-drug conjugates for patients with mTNBC, and determine how to optimally incorporate these agents into current treatment algorithms.
  • Recognize the spectrum, frequency and severity of treatment-emergent adverse events associated with agents commonly used in the management of mTNBC, and develop strategies to monitor for, prevent and manage these complications.
  • Assess the mechanisms of action of, early data with and ongoing clinical trials evaluating other novel agents and treatment strategies under development for TNBC.

  • Appreciate the incidence of trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2) overexpression in patients with breast cancer and the ramifications for prognosis and management.
  • Consider published clinical research data with TROP2-directed antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) for patients with metastatic breast cancer in order to optimally integrate available agents into routine clinical care.
  • Discern the side effects and toxicities associated with FDA-approved TROP2-directed ADCs used in the care of patients with metastatic breast cancer, and identify strategies to manage and mitigate them.
  • Evaluate the scientific justification for the use of TROP2-directed ADCs in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy or in earlier lines of treatment, including the adjuvant setting, and reflect on ongoing trials investigating these approaches.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This program is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows, surgeons and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of biliary tract cancers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discuss the biological justification for the evaluation of immune checkpoint inhibitors for patients with advanced biliary tract cancers (BTCs), and develop strategies to optimally incorporate anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody-based approaches into the care of individuals with these diseases.
  • Recognize the molecular heterogeneity of cholangiocarcinomas and other BTCs, and appreciate the biological rationale for efforts to exploit documented abnormalities in patients with these diseases.
  • Assess key datasets supporting the recent FDA approvals of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) inhibitors for previously treated, unresectable locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma with an FGFR2 fusion or other rearrangement in order to optimally select and sequence these agents.
  • Evaluate available clinical trial findings with HER2-directed therapies for patients with HER2-positive BTCs, and contemplate the current utility of these agents for appropriately selected individuals.
  • Recall available and emerging data with investigational agents and strategies currently in clinical testing for BTCs, and appropriately refer patients for trial participation.
