Integrating Recent Advances into the Management of Gastroesophageal Cancers

Each 1-hour session will include 3 topic modules focused on integrating recent advances into the management of gastroesophageal cancers. Each event will employ an identical format that will include the following elements:

• Discussion of Steering Committee Members’ Treatment Recommendations
• Review of Available Clinical Research Findings
• Integration of Interactive Audience Q&A Discussion

MODULE 1 — Optimizing the Management of HER2-Positive Advanced Gastroesophageal (GE) Cancers

MODULE 2 — Targeting CLDN18.2 in Advanced GE Cancers

MODULE 3 — Role of Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 Antibodies in Therapy for GE Cancers

Each session will conclude with a 5-minute Q&A segment

Target Audience
This activity is intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows, surgeons and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of gastroesophageal cancers.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to

• Review published research findings with HER2-targeted therapies for newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory advanced HER2-positive gastroesophageal cancers, and assess the current role of various agents and regimens.
• Describe the published research data with anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies alone or in combination with other systemic therapies in the management of metastatic gastric, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) and esophageal cancer, and optimally integrate these strategies into treatment algorithms.
• Evaluate the biological rationale for the use of claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2)-directed monoclonal antibody therapy in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment for patients with HER2-negative, CLDN18.2-positive gastric or GEJ cancer, and optimally deploy this approach in patient care.
• Recognize available clinical research findings with immune checkpoint inhibitors as neoadjuvant, adjuvant or perioperative therapy for patients with resectable gastric, GEJ and esophageal cancers, and consider the current role of these approaches.
• Review the rationale for, available data with and ongoing studies evaluating novel agents and strategies for patients with gastroesophageal cancers in order to prepare for potential clinical availability or to enhance clinical trial participation.

CME, ABIM and ABS credit information will be provided to each participant at the conclusion of the activity.
