TARGET AUDIENCE
These activities are intended for medical oncologists, hematology-oncology fellows and other healthcare providers involved in the treatment of ovarian cancer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Develop an understanding of the scientific rationale for the development of novel therapies designed to target the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) in patients with ovarian cancer.
  • Assess the pharmacologic characteristics and mechanism of action of GR antagonists under development for ovarian cancer, and appreciate their implications for the activity and tolerability of these agents.
  • Evaluate published research findings with GR antagonists in combination with chemotherapy for platinum-refractory/resistant ovarian cancer, and consider the role of these agents in current management algorithms.
  • Recognize the potential side effects associated with GR antagonists in combination with chemotherapy, and develop strategies to prevent, mitigate and manage resultant toxicities.
